- Where is it holding?
- The tournament will hold at the Le Meridien Hotel in Uyo, capital City of Akwa-Ibom State, Nigeria. Games starts Friday evening 9th October, 2009 and ends with Dinner on Sunday night 11th October, 2009.
- Which Airport can I fly to?
Best to fly to Abuja, capital city of Nigeria. You may also fly to Lagos but that will be taking the scenic route. Whether you fly to Abuja or Lagos, you should book your flight to arrive Lagos or Abuja not later than the morning of Thursday 8th October 2009. Representatives of the NSF will meet you at whichever airport you decide to enter Nigeria and from that point onwards, you will be chaperoned or met at every point you disembark. From Abuja or Lagos,You will then need to get on a local flight to Calabar. From Calabar, there will be ground transportation to Uyo town and the Hotel venue of the event. This part of your journey(Abuja/Lagos to Uyo) will cost you about $135. The recommended airlines within Nigeria are Arik Air and Aero Contractors and you can get more information on fares and travel times online at www.arikair.com or Aero Contractors www.flyaero.com
- Do I need a visa to enter Nigeria
- You probably do if Nigerians need a visa to enter your country. Please apply on time at the Nigerian Embassy in your Country of Residence. Please inform the NSF by email of your intentions and the respective embassy will be alerted as to your application.
- Will the event be rated Internationally?
- We have a lot of players from outside Nigeria who have signified attendance. So we are hoping it will be rated as an International event.
- What does my entry fee of $200 give me?

- Accommodation and Breakfast from Thursday night to Sunday night
- Lunch on Saturday and Sunday
- Can I pay my $200 at the venue?

- I have heard about unrests in some parts of Nigeria recently, is the Tournament location safe?
- All through the journey from Lagos or Abuja to Uyo, You will be safe and secure and all the local people you will encounter are peace loving. Furthermore, in Uyo you will be the guest of The Executive Governor of Akwa Ibom State.
- How sure is the star prize of $10,000?
- That star prize is fixed. It does not depend on entrants. A full breakdown of other prizes will be available on our website (www.nigerianscrabble.com) shortly.
