Toyin Saraki School Scrabble Tournament
The 1st edition of Toyin Saraki School Scrabble Tournament (TSSST) was held at the Stella Obasanjo Multipurpose Hall Ilorin Kwara State from July 21st to 23rd. The scrabble tournament ended with Oyun Baptist High School Ijagbo winning the first prize. The 2nd prize went to Offa Grammar School while 3rd was Community Sec. School Ogbondoroko all in Kwara State Nigeria.
A total of 12 schools from 12 out of the 16 local government areas originally expected took part in the 3 day Scrabble Tournament. The scrabble tourney was sponsored by the wife of Kwara State Governor. The winner of the school’s category went home with a brand new set of computer, a scrabble set, and some books to aid the school library. 2nd and 3rd positions got scrabble sets and some books as well.
In the individual event Master Salami Yinka from Offa Gramar School Offa came tops with 4 wins out of 4 games, 2nd-placed Ategbenro Adebayo from Oyun Grammar School got 3 wins, 3rd placed was Adewumi Babatunde also had 3 wins but had a cumulative spread of 208 as against 310 of the
2nd position.
