Ibadan Opens 2006
The second Ibadan Open Scrabble Championships will be held from the 21st to the 23rd of July 2006.
Venue is the D ROVANS HOTEL Ring Road Ibadan, Oyo State.

- 1st 40,000
- 2nd 20,000
- 3rd 10,000
- 4th 5,000
- 5th 3,000
- 6-10th N2,000each
- 11-15th N800 each
Category 2
- 1st N 20,000
- 2nd N 10,000
- 3rd N 5,000
- 4th N 2,000
- 5th N 2,000
- 6-10th N1,000 each
- 11-15th N500 each
- 16-20th N500 each
Registration starts at 5.00pm on Friday 21st July 2006.
Any player who is yet to pay for 2006 players licence will pay a penalty of 2times the reg. fees.
Veteran Scrabble Player Award
The Veteran (Princess Diekola Sanda) scrabble player award this year has a lovely Plate with Niyi Esan’s name inscribed on it as last year’s winner. This will be taken home by the best veteran player, added to it is a cash prize of N10,000. As you will know, this is in appreciation of what Chief Gbade Sanda has done for scrabble in Ibadan, Oyo State and most importantly in Nigeria.
This year’s winner will part with the trophy a month to next year’s tourney whilst a replacement cup trophy will be issued, this is to allow the current winner’s name to be embossed on it as well and this will go on yearly until there are no more space to accomodate names. This will then be permanently lodged at the Oyo State Sports council Trophy cabinet.
