Ikekeregor battles Lukeman Owolabi
Table 1 Game 10 Master division, former world number 9 Lukeman Owolabi started the game with UNBATED while Dennis Ikekeregor (reigning Africa Champion) replied with VAIRY. Lukeman's next move was another bingo NOnSKIER (88 points) using the N float from UNBATED while Dennis replied with SPIRAeAS using the E float from UNBATED. Lukeman bingoed rEFRAMED immediately using the R float from NONSKIER to which Dennis replied with DAnGLED using a blank for the N. The last D of DANGLED floated dangerously on the triple line. Lukeman's tiles then were T O R N A E E, and as he had no usable float on the board he played TORNAdE.
Dennis then played BLUR(G)EON using the G of his earlier DANGLED which was challenged off the board. Soon after Lukeman played another bingo qUEsTIO(n) to the N of DANGLED and Dennis took 66 points from ADZ/ZOA. Lukeman won the game 529 - 392 to maintain the top position after 10 games.

Interview with Terry Kirk
ABSP UK National Chairman Terry Kirk spoke to NigeriaScrabble.com on his impression of the tournament and Scrabble in Nigeria.
What is your impression about the standard of the game in Nigeria?
Oh very high standard, very strong players. I was warned before I came here by Nigeria players based in the UK that the standard is high. This weekend I've won only 3 games out of 13! In the UK, I'm one of the top 20 players, so that shows how high the standard is.
What is your impression about the organization of this tournament
Favourable impression! I think the organizers have done a splendid job. It's not easy to organize a tournament with so many players coming so I think they did a good job. I'll recommend more UK players to come to Nigeria for more Scrabble tournaments.
In your opinion as an international Scrabble player how you think Nigeria can improve it's World Scrabble Championship ranking? What do you think is lacking
Em... well it's hard for me to say because you have very strong players. Maybe you need greater experience, more players coming over to UK and outside your country for Scrabble tournaments though I know it's not easy because of Visa problems e.t.c.
Thank you Terry, for taking time to talk to us
Thank you too, David.
