Adam Logan wins WSC
Adam Logan 30, of Montreal, Canada playing for Canada has emerged champion of the 2005 World Scrabble Championships. After 27 games with an impressive record of 23 wins and just 4 losses, Adam Logan emerged world champion of the word game in London, England.
In the final, Adam Logan played Nemitrmansuk Pakorn of Thailand in a three-game set. He won all three games 524-409 in Game 1, 520-316 in Game 2 and 465-426 in Game 3 to become the 2005 World SCRABBLE Champion.
Nigeria’s Lukeman Owolabi placed 9th overall, the best placing by any African in the 2005 championships. Nigeria’s Tunde Oduwole was 64th and Ikolo Anthony placed 73rd. Femi Awowade who played for England was 36th overall.
Overall, Nigeria finished 7th behind Canada, Thailand, Australia, Malaysia, Wales and USA.
