Nigeria Scrabble National Championship Qualification Modalities
Arising from the recent general assembly held in Lokoja last month, the Board of NSF resolved that the long awaited return of what used to be called WAMCO National Scrabble Opens should now come back in a bigger way, to be called NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP.

Modalities for qualification
There will be qualifier series to be organised by the 36 State Associations plus FCT . The Number of qualifiers per State shall be as listed below.
Allocation of Qualifier Slots
- All States has an automatic 1(single) slot.
- 1 additional slot to States that attended the last Sports Festival.
- 1 additional slot to States that has hosted at least one NSF activity in the last 5 years.
- 1 additional slot to States that has hosted at least three NSF activities in the last 5 years.
- 1 additional slot to States that has at least 30 players in the current National Rating List.
- 1 additonal slot to States that can show evidence that more than 40 players participated in the qualifiers.
States that are able to fulfill all the conditions listed above will have up to 6 representatives to feature in the grand finale. In organising the local (state) qualifiers a minimum of 12 games should be played using Au410. pairing.
Only NSF certified TD are to be allowed to officiate the state qualifiers. Any state that does not have any NSF TDs should contact the Technical Director for necessary arrangment. All States are expected to finish and forward the list of their qualifiers to the Secretary latest last week in Nov.2005.
For a State to be eligible to participate such State must comply with the following conditions;
- Must have paid their affiliation fee of N3,500.00
- Must pay a participation fee of N10,000.00.
- Must pay N500.00/player in excess of 20.
States are free to charge any registration fee as may be decided by the State EXCO.
