Nigeria Wins ASC PANASA 2004!
A Nigerian scrabble player became the new African Scrabble champion in Tanzania at the end of the games of the 6th Africa Scrabble Championships.
Dennis Ikekeregor was declared the winner of the tournament PANASA 2004 with a game left to go in the KOH rounds.
After game 22, Dennis was clearly top of the pack with 17 wins, closely challenged by Nigerian team mate Moshood Sanni who was in second place with 16 wins. After the 23rd round which saw the two team mates play each other on Table 1, the results were as follows on the top 5 tables

Thus with a game remaining with 18 wins out of 23 and a point spread of 961 Dennis Ikekeregor was declared the winner and African Champion.
Game 24
After Dennis Ikekeregor had clinched the title with a game to go he was paired with David Kangethe who was out of contention for the top prizes. Compatriots Moshood Sanni and Femi Awowade who were placed 2nd and 3rd respectively had to slug it out with each other on Table 2!
At the end of the day the final results on the top 5 tables were as shown below
